Voices of Hope for Aphasia!

Volunteers are needed to talk, laugh, and live at Voices of Hope for Aphasia! Tampa Bay’s only community-based aphasia program is seeking volunteer Communication Assistants for its twice-weekly program in St. Petersburg. Eligible volunteers will be good communication partners for adults with aphasia; speech pathologists, speech pathology assistants or any one willing to use supported communication techniques are welcome. This is a great opportunity to develop, hone, or re-tool your supported communication skills while helping members participate in fun activities. Supported communication training is available for eligible applicants. Volunteers are needed at least one day per week, Mondays or Fridays, between the hours of 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. We are also seeking project-specific volunteers who are willing to share their hobby or special skill in an aphasia-friendly way. For more information, see our website at http://www.vohaphasia.org, or call Jackie Hinckley, Executive Director, at 727-249-1953.
