The MESPA 3rd Annual Symposium on Neurological SLP Disorders was another huge success!

On Saturday, April 8, 2017, Tampa General Hospital hosted a wonderful symposium with Tampa Bay’s finest Speech-Language Pathologists as presenters. The agenda included the following for 7 hours of Florida State CEU’s:

8:00-10:00: Andrea Hayes M.S., CCC-SLP, BCS-S

(Blake Medical Center): “Neuroanatomy Review for the SLP: From One Neuron to Another!”

10:15-11:15: Darla Freeman-LeVay M.A., CCC-SLP

(Florida ENT and Allergy): “Working With Parkinson’s:  A Review for the SLP”

11:15-12:15: Cheryl Paul M.S., CCC-SLP

(University of South Florida): “Group Therapy for Grown Folks.”

1:15-2:15: Erin Guidera M.S., CCC-SLP

(Moffitt Cancer Center): “Neurolaryngology and Neurogenic Voice Disorders”

2:30-4:30: Dr. Jackie Hinkley, Ph.D., CCC-SLP

(Voices for Hope for Aphasia, Associate Professor Emeritus, USF): Five Evidence-Based Therapy Approaches that are Effective for Speech, Language, and Cognition.

MESPA is a local speech pathology organization in Tampa, Florida that started in 2000 to draw speech pathologists together to meet for continuing education. Currently, MESPA meets at Tampa General Hospital on a quarterly basis on the second Sunday evening of the month in January, April, July, and October from 6:00-8:00 pm.
